Q. I am 25 and have suffered with keloid from acne since the age of 13. I have used steroid injections, and numerous topical treatments. There is one large keloid on my chest (1 1/2 in.) that I just can’t live with,and want to look into surgical or other options. I’m not sure what is out there and want to know what would be my best options. Are there any experts on the field to consult?
A. ask your gp to refer you to your nearest plastic surgery unit. In Yorkshire, Mr Alan Phipps runs a scar clinic in Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield. Other units, attached to Burn Units, will offer a similar clinic
